BRULE COUNTY SPECIAL EXCEPTION PROCESS

 

 

 

 

1)          Special Exception Required

2)          Obtain application for Special Exception from zoning administrator Edwin Westendorf (605)234-4432

3)          Submit required paperwork to zoning administrator with fee payment

4)          Paperwork approved and accepted

5)          Hearing date assigned

a) Applicant notified by mail
b) County publishes notice in legal newspaper(s) 15 days prior to hearing date
c) County posts property 7 days prior to hearing

6)         County Commission acting as Board of Adjustment, hearing held

 

Results:

Special Exception approved or Special Exception approved with conditions = Secure Building Permit

 

OR

 

Special Exception denied = Appeal to County Commission
